The situation
Diligence and contract review ran on associates’ hours and a general-purpose AI assistant. The assistant helped, but it wrote generic clause language that lawyers rewrote by hand, and its per-seat, per-token cost made the partners ask whether the tool was worth expanding past the pilot group.
